Are you a parent of an individual with neuro-diverse, intellectual and/or developmental needs?

Are you stressed with back to school challenges and trying to get back into the “rhythm of things”?

We are Welcoming parents and families of neuro-diverse and differently-abled children/students. It’s back-to-school time - time to get back into the rhythm of things. Caregivers, it’s time for some self-care!

Mewsic Moves and Bright Day Therapy Center are collaborating to support the entire family during this back-to-school transition. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Neurologic Music Therapist for nearly 20 years, John is passionate about supporting the entire family. Mewsic Moves is collaborating with Bright Day Therapy Center in Redondo Beach as they are also passionate about supporting the entire family and together they are offering a FREE music night for the ENTIRE FAMILY! No sitters needed!

We will be dividing the space between parents and children. Parents and caregivers are welcome to join John Mews for an interactive drumming musical experience, celebrating and centering community and supporting one another. Children will be supervised in musical-play-time by speech therapy and occupational therapy staff and student volunteers of Bright Day Therapy Center staff.

Glee Choir -  FREE Drop in Music Group for Adults with Neurodiverse and Developmental Needs

Are you an adult with Neurodiverse/Developmental Needs?

Do you love music?

Do you love to sing?

Then this program may be for you!

We are offering 2 FREE sessions and starting an Adult Glee Choir Music Therapy Social Skills group in January 2022!

Dates: Thursdays from 5-6 pm, December 2nd & 9th!

Information about Glee Choir:

GLEE choir is a collaborative 12-week music therapy social skills program for adults with neurodiverse needs to share their love for music in a fun and safe environment, while also working on a variety of goals such as:

  • Social skills

  • Self-esteem

  • Expressing emotions

  • Making friends

  • Music Skill Development

  • Social-Emotional learning

  • And much more…

Participants are given an equal opportunity to express themselves through music, playing instruments, song writing, choosing their favorite songs to sing, and learning basic (fun) choreography. Each participant will receive a recording of their performances as their take home gift to share with family and friends. At the end of the program, participants will also share their experience in a live community performance to showcase their songs and skills that they have learned throughout the program for family and friends.

Mewsic Moves and Step by Step is collaborating and hosting a Fun and FREE Family music night for families of children with neurodiverse and developmental needs!

Date: Sunday, December 5th, 5-7pm

Location: 11660 W. Olympic Blvd, Los Angeles

John Mews, Music Therapist and Founder or Mewsic Moves is passionate about supporting and connecting families through music. (no musical skills required)

We’d love to have you join us for a Fun Free night of music. (snack and beverages will be served)

Step by Step will be providing their support staff to work with your children in another space having fun with crafts and activities while you the parents connects with other parents and have a fun night together.
