Music Therapist

Music has been an integral part of my life for as long as I can remember. It is a source of inspiration, comfort, expression, and connection. I began my musical journey with the flute in elementary school, and continued playing in various ensembles and honor bands throughout high school and college. When I first learned about music therapy through my hometown girl scout troop, I knew right away that it was something special. In our experiences bringing music to the local senior centers around our neighborhood, we saw the power of music to leave a lasting impact on our community, and now I feel so lucky to be a part of that every day.

My philosophy is to treat each client as a whole human being; mind, body, and spirit all connected and working together to create a unique individual. I have a strong interest in how other people view the world, and how I can best connect with that view in order to build unique relationships and bring the best out in the people I work with.

I completed my B.A. coursework at California State University, Northridge, and recently completed my internship at Professional Child Development Associates in Pasadena, California. My studies and comprehensive volunteer work include experience with children, teens, and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, adult rehabilitation care, adults recovering from traumatic brain injuries, children’s palliative care, and adults with mental health diagnoses and eating disorders.

I enjoy working with people of all age ranges and functioning abilities. I am always looking to grow and find new ways to utilize my creativity and musical skills in sessions!
